Behind the scenes of the failure of "Lautaro Martinez" to join Barcelona

The closing hours of the summer transfer market witnessed intensive movements within the corridors of FC Barcelona to strengthen the offensive line, where the name of the Argentine" Lautaro Martinez", the captain of Inter Milan, emerged as one of the solutions offered to compensate for the failure of the deal of Julian Alvarez, who was stuck by Atletico Madrid and refused to give up.
Despite Lautaro's great artistic value, he has not been the first choice of coach Hans Flick or the Deco sports management since the beginning of the summer. But as the mercato neared its end and other attacking options became complicated, the Catalan club officials moved to feel the pulse of the player and his close environment to find out his attitude to wearing the belograna shirt.
Communication did not stop at the agents, but extended directly between Barcelona president Juan Laporta and Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta to discuss the possibility of completing the deal, but the Italian response was decisive by refusing to part with the services of the Argentine striker, especially with the lack of time and difficulty in hiring a replacement to compensate for his absence in the Nerazzurri squad.
"Attempts" to join Lautaro were not born today, the Argentine star was already close to moving to the "Camp Nou" in 2021 during the period of former sporting director Ramon Blanes, and the player was very welcome to take the Catalan experience, but the suffocating financial crisis experienced by Barcelona at the time prevented the completion of the deal.
"This stumble" prompted Lautaro to continue with Inter Milan, and confirm his loyalty by extending his contract until 2029, with the removal of the penalty clause so that his exit is subject to the approval of his club's management only, and after the door was completely closed to the inclusion of the Inter captain, Barcelona turned towards an alternative option available for a long time by signing the Brazilian Gabriel Jesus, in a move that went smoothly after the player agreed to reduce his salary to facilitate his official registration, so the club folded the explicit attack file under the offensive glow provided by "Ravinia".
